Return to the Best of Oxfords Gardens 2011

The Best of Oxfords Gardens is a photographic record of the quirky the untidy, eccentric, and unkempt, interesting collections of junk and the occasional zen thing in and around the City of Oxford. Its also a statement about the loss of pride which once flourished,if you look hard enough you may still find it,but its rare. Its also looking at the contrasts between the inner and outer areas of the city and of course the cultural differences. These places constantly trigger my emotions, some days i laugh out loud with what i see and other days i shake my head in despair. As a photographer i get drawn back time and time again searching for reason and inner beauty amongst all the chaos.

Its my last week around here, well for a while anyway as the training center i've been using will be closing down soon. Its a shame as i will miss the lunch breaks which i used as an opportunity to explore the area.Still there are other places to be found with equal charm.

Ive finally managed to get a photo of this front garden, its just that ive refused to think outside the box, All the photos in the Garden series have been in 1.1 aspect or squared. There was no way that i was going to get all this in as i had a giant hedge directly behind me,such is life lol!!. This garden was very near to the training place i was going to and the first to get me going on these crazy photo adventure's and explore this area. So whoever owns this place and you happen to see this, dump an old tv and an armchair out here then it would look like a proper front garden. Ridgefield Road Oxford 2011 Lumix DMC LX3

  1. Blimey, are you stopping blogging? Or have I got the wrong end of the stick?

Now, you can wave me away as an Oxford newbie, but why don't you blog about the beautiful bits of Oxford 50% of the time, and the remaining 50% take pictures of mattresses in gardens etc?

It is such a gorgeous city. I have only been here 2 years and yet I am bowled over by it every time I see it ;-)

  2. Hi Annie
Ive been here 20 years and ive done the beautiful bit. If you look at my sets of photos in flickr you will find plenty of this.I'm now working on the alternative side of the city which can be beautiful as well, depending how you look at it.
    cheers
